Since the cancellation of The City, there has been no shortage of reality shows hoping to fill its well-heeled (if not entirely truthful) shoes. But while Style.com’s in-the-works docu-series North of Madison has been relegated to the web and Olivia Palermo’s return to the small screen is still but a rumor, none come close to having the pedigree that comes from being produced by R.J. Cutler — the man behind 2009’s critically acclaimed documentary The September Issue.
We heard news of the new show via a casting request sent to us earlier today — but now its been confirmed. Cutler is working with production company Vinnie Potestivo Entertainment on a new reality series that hopes to document “the ins-and-outs of the fashion world.”
While The September Issue may have been Cutler’s first high-fashion product, he’s got plenty of experience in the reality television market. He also produced the political doc The War Room which followed the 1992 presidential campaign of Bill Clinton(yes yess!) –
