Actresses Vanessa Williams and Tiffany Hines and reality TV star Kim Kardashian all hit the blue carpet donning dark digits in mysterious shades of amethyst, emerald green and black, respectively.
And each of the leading ladies stuck to the unwritten beauty rule: dark nail polish looks better on short nails.
